The third studio album from the Gorillaz is finally out. Gorillaz is a virtual band that utilizes the talents of many artists across all of their albums. Well Plastic Beach is the newest album featuring artists like Snoop Dogg and Mos Def.
I’ll admit when it comes to the Gorillaz I tend to listen to the albums for the catchy song. Plastic Beach however does not seem to contain one. Now this is in no way saying it is bad because all the tracks have an ethereal feel that makes for perfect background music. If I had to pick a track as the catchiest it would be Welcome to the World of the Plastic Beach featuring Snoop Dogg.
Overall this is not as catchy as some of their other albums, however if you listen a story is definitely being told. What I would really like to see come from the Gorillaz is a movie like Daft Punks’ Interstella 5555: The 5tory of the 5ecret 5tar 5ystem and this would be the perfect album to work with I think.
